The Position

The position is organizationally placed in the finance department and belongs to the municipal executive administration. You will work together with a group of engaged employees who, under the leadership of the finance manager, focus on providing qualified support to all municipal administrations. Your closest colleagues in the finance department are the accounting manager, two economists, and two finance administrators. Under the finance department, there is also the municipality's accounting unit, IT unit, and purchasing function. We are now looking for an employee with solid experience who wants to work as an economist with the social services operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the current position holder has moved on to another position within the municipality, we are now seeking their successor. You will be part of the municipality's finance unit but will primarily play an important role in the administration you work with. You are both a close support to the management of the social services and work with overarching processes together with your colleagues in the finance unit. The social services are responsible for the municipality's social services and health care. The administration's tasks include both authority exercise and implementation of measures for individuals in need of elderly care, individual and family care, LSS, and municipal primary care. The administration has 270 employees and a total of 18 managers.

Your assignment includes developing and improving the financial support to the management and unit managers. You are responsible for assisting the management in planning, analyzing, and developing the administration's operations from a financial perspective to create long-term financial stability. You actively participate in the management group of the social services under the leadership of the administration manager together with operational managers, development manager, staffing manager, and HR specialist. You are the financial expert of the administration and work professionally, proactively, and knowledgeably within the financial area. You are a link between the central finance department and the administration you support.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have a bachelor's degree from a university or college in economics or public administration. A master's degree from the School of Public Administration is an advantage.

You have at least 3 years of work experience as an economist in public operations and have thereby gained good knowledge of and understand the financial processes in a municipality. You have worked with forecasts, annual accounts, and investigations of various complexities. It is advantageous if you have experience as an economist/controller with a focus on the social services area and/or staffing economics.

You have good computer and system skills, especially in Excel and financial systems. You also have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing.

You can work independently with both integrity and initiative and be driving in the processes you are involved in.

As the position is part of a small team with good cohesion and continuity and in close collaboration with other administrations, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
